Company Shares Future Vision to Become a National Corporation of India

MUMBAI, Oct. 14, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) today announced the listing of its subsidiary, LG Electronics India Limited (LGEIL), on the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE). The milestone marks an important step in the LGEIL’s ambition to become a national corporation of India while reinforcing its role as a long-term partner in the country’s economic growth.

On October 14, LG held a listing and future vision announcement ceremony at NSE in Mumbai, attended by LG Electronics CEO William Cho, CFO Chang-tae Kim, managing director of LGEIL Hong-ju Jeon, board chairman Dae-hyun Song, as well as NSE CEO Ashish Chauhan, investors and analysts. At the market’s opening bell, LG CEO Cho and NSE CEO Chauhan jointly rang the ceremonial gong to celebrate the start of trading for LGEIL.

In the IPO, LG offered 15 percent of LGEIL’s issued shares (101,815,859 shares) through an offer for sale. The IPO price was set at the top of the indicative range at INR 1,140 per share, with subscriptions reaching 54 times the total offering. The listing generated approximately USD 1.31 billion1 (INR 116.05 billion).

With the listing, LGEIL becomes more deeply rooted in India. LG anticipates that this development will support its growth in a market where rising incomes and expanding middle-class households are creating strong momentum in appliance adoption. According to Boston Consulting Group, the proportion of Indian households in the middle-income bracket (annual income USD 6,000–36,000) is forecast to rise from 29 percent in 2020 to 46 percent by 2030.

SEOUL, Oct. 13, 2025 — LG Electronics Inc. (LG) today announced its preliminary earnings results for the third quarter of 2025, reporting consolidated revenue of KRW 21.88 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 688.9 billion.

Despite external headwinds, including escalating U.S. tariffs, both figures surpassed market expectations. Revenue marked the second-highest ever for a third quarter, while operating profit exceeded recent market forecasts by more than 10 percent. Profitability declined year-on-year due to several non-recurring factors, including higher tariff burdens under changing trade conditions.

Nevertheless, LG successfully offset market concerns and exceeded expectations, driven by solid performances across key and future-oriented businesses. The home appliance solutions business maintained strong competitiveness and market leadership, while the vehicle solutions business achieved record-high profitability.

LG continues to reinforce its business fundamentals through a focus on qualitative growth – emphasizing B2B operations such as vehicle solutions and HVAC, expanding non-hardware platforms including appliance subscriptions and webOS, and strengthening its online business. In particular, the IPO of LG Electronics India Limited is expected to provide significant funding to accelerate business structure improvements and future growth initiatives.

The home appliance solutions business continued to face challenges from tariff pressures on U.S. exports and a delayed recovery in global demand. Despite these conditions, it sustained leadership in the premium segment and maintained stable performance in the mass market. These results were supported by optimized production operations, efficient resource allocation to mitigate tariff effects and steady growth in subscription-based appliance services.

The media and entertainment solutions business faced higher marketing costs as competition intensified in the global TV market. Moving forward, LG plans to enhance the competitiveness of the webOS platform to diversify its profit structure – focusing on advancing its advertising business and expanding content offerings. The company also plans to accelerate growth in the Global South, where TV demand remains relatively stable.

The vehicle solutions business is expected to have achieved record-breaking profitability in the third quarter, driven primarily by the strong performance of premium in-vehicle infotainment systems, which contributed to improved margins. The business is also broadening its portfolio beyond hardware to include vehicle content platforms, with continued growth expected based on a robust order backlog and improving operational efficiency across lighting and EV powertrain units.

In the eco solutions business, LG is actively expanding its footprint in future-oriented markets such as commercial HVAC systems and industrial and power plant chillers. The company has recently secured a series of large-scale projects – including AI data center cooling solutions – across North America, Latin America, the Middle East and Asia. As these projects progress, LG aims to leverage them as key references to further reinforce its long-term growth potential. In parallel, the company is preparing for the commercialization of liquid cooling solutions for data centers, a next-generation technology poised to become a major driver of future expansion.

These figures are tentative consolidated earnings based on K-IFRS provided as a service to investors prior to LG Electronics’ final earnings results, including net profit. Details regarding each division will be announced officially later this month.

Making its debut at K show, LG is accelerating the global expansion of its advanced materials business. This year, the company has established a strong global presence by participating in all three of the world’s major plastics exhibitions: Chinaplas in China, National Plastics Exposition in the U.S., and now K show in Europe.

Underscoring LG’s leadership in advanced material technologies, PuroTec solutions are suitable for a wide range of applications spanning diverse industries, including home appliances, healthcare, construction materials, packaging and automotive. LG currently holds 420 patents related to glass powder technology and operates a manufacturing facility at LG Smart Park in Changwon, South Korea, with an annual production capacity of 4,500 tons.

In September, LG signed a memorandum of understanding with SGS Korea, a global certification organization, to co-develop international antimicrobial certification standards for PuroTec. Under the agreement, LG will provide technical expertise related to antimicrobial technologies for certification design, while SGS Korea will develop certification procedures aligned with global standards. Products certified under this partnership will bear the SGS Global Performance Mark, clearly signaling transparency and reliability to global customers.

LG’s innovative direct current (DC) grid solution minimizes energy loss in data center operations. While traditional alternating current (AC) conversion can result in around 25 percent heat loss, LG’s DC grid reduces this to approximately 10 percent by enabling chillers to operate directly on DC power. Combined with high-efficiency inverter pumps and heat exchangers, the DC grid significantly improves power efficiency and contributes to lowering total operating costs.

As Chris Jo highlighted, we have extended webOS – trusted across 240 million devices worldwide – into vehicles with our webOS-based Automotive Content Platform (ACP). This enables automakers to deliver rich multimedia experiences such as OTT streaming, cloud gaming and video conferencing on a global scale. With full UI/UX customization and new revenue opportunities, the webOS platform is moving beyond the living room and shaping the future of the mobility ecosystem.

Xbox: Cloud Gaming Hits the Road
For Xbox, this partnership is an exciting moment, finding a new way to bring the joy of gaming to more people. Chris Lee, Vice President of Marketing at Xbox, noted the challenge of bringing the Xbox experience from TVs into cars, particularly around performance and seamless integration.

By leveraging our ACP, Xbox delivers a quality in-car gaming experience via its popular cloud gaming service, while LG manages the essential integration and certification work. This means passengers can access the same trusted Xbox Cloud Gaming service wherever they travel – during a charging stop or long road trip. Chris described it as making the journey “not only more entertaining but supporting the flexibility players expect from Xbox,” and I believe this underscores the true value of collaboration.

Zoom: Meetings on Wheels
Brendan Ittelson, Chief Ecosystem Officer at Zoom, spoke about creating a consistent collaboration experience across different vehicles – a vision that naturally aligns with ours. By integrating directly with our webOS-based ACP, Zoom can deliver updates and improvements as soon as they’re ready without waiting on OEM software cycles.

Drivers can join meetings safely in voice-only mode, and passengers can attend camera-enabled video calls, while Zoom AI Companion automatically captures summaries and action items in the background. As Brendan explained, “The in-cabin experience is quickly shifting from passive to purposeful,” becoming a place where people can stay connected and productive without sacrificing safety.

Affectionate Intelligence for the Road Ahead
Looking at the bigger picture, the future of in-vehicle innovation will be shaped by AI – what we call “Affectionate Intelligence” – that not only understands users but also seamlessly integrates functions for safety, entertainment, communication and comfort. To transform vehicles into true extensions of living spaces, LG must take on the role of orchestrator, working closely with our content partners and automakers to create a genuinely human-centered mobility ecosystem.

My key takeaway from the panel was that each of us – LG, Xbox and Zoom – brings distinct strengths to the table. Xbox is taking a bold step into automotive gaming, Zoom is working to redefine productivity on the move and LG is driving toward an AI-powered mobility ecosystem. Guided by these shared goals, the path forward is clear.

With webOS at the core and trusted partners by our side, we are accelerating platform-driven growth in mobility. The future of the car won’t just be about transportation – it will be about creating experiences that connect, entertain and empower us wherever the road leads.
