[Executive Corner] Redefining the Road with ACP and AI: How LG, Xbox and Zoom Are Powering the In-Car Experience

As president of the LG Vehicle Solution (VS) Company, IAA Mobility 2025 gave me the opportunity to present our vision to a global audience. I had the privilege of sharing the stage with Chris Jo, senior vice president and head of LG’s webOS Platform Business Center, along with our partners from Xbox and Zoom. Together, we are defining what it takes to transform the car into a true living space on wheels.

LG Automotive Content Platform: Driving the Future of In-Cabin Connectivity
As Chris Jo highlighted, we have extended webOS – trusted across 240 million devices worldwide – into vehicles with our webOS-based Automotive Content Platform (ACP). This enables automakers to deliver rich multimedia experiences such as OTT streaming, cloud gaming and video conferencing on a global scale. With full UI/UX customization and new revenue opportunities, the webOS platform is moving beyond the living room and shaping the future of the mobility ecosystem.

Xbox: Cloud Gaming Hits the Road
For Xbox, this partnership is an exciting moment, finding a new way to bring the joy of gaming to more people. Chris Lee, Vice President of Marketing at Xbox, noted the challenge of bringing the Xbox experience from TVs into cars, particularly around performance and seamless integration.

By leveraging our ACP, Xbox delivers a quality in-car gaming experience via its popular cloud gaming service, while LG manages the essential integration and certification work. This means passengers can access the same trusted Xbox Cloud Gaming service wherever they travel – during a charging stop or long road trip. Chris described it as making the journey “not only more entertaining but supporting the flexibility players expect from Xbox,” and I believe this underscores the true value of collaboration.

Zoom: Meetings on Wheels
Brendan Ittelson, Chief Ecosystem Officer at Zoom, spoke about creating a consistent collaboration experience across different vehicles – a vision that naturally aligns with ours. By integrating directly with our webOS-based ACP, Zoom can deliver updates and improvements as soon as they’re ready without waiting on OEM software cycles.

Drivers can join meetings safely in voice-only mode, and passengers can attend camera-enabled video calls, while Zoom AI Companion automatically captures summaries and action items in the background. As Brendan explained, “The in-cabin experience is quickly shifting from passive to purposeful,” becoming a place where people can stay connected and productive without sacrificing safety.

Affectionate Intelligence for the Road Ahead
Looking at the bigger picture, the future of in-vehicle innovation will be shaped by AI – what we call “Affectionate Intelligence” – that not only understands users but also seamlessly integrates functions for safety, entertainment, communication and comfort. To transform vehicles into true extensions of living spaces, LG must take on the role of orchestrator, working closely with our content partners and automakers to create a genuinely human-centered mobility ecosystem.

My key takeaway from the panel was that each of us – LG, Xbox and Zoom – brings distinct strengths to the table. Xbox is taking a bold step into automotive gaming, Zoom is working to redefine productivity on the move and LG is driving toward an AI-powered mobility ecosystem. Guided by these shared goals, the path forward is clear.

With webOS at the core and trusted partners by our side, we are accelerating platform-driven growth in mobility. The future of the car won’t just be about transportation – it will be about creating experiences that connect, entertain and empower us wherever the road leads.

Where Art Meets Technology: Tenka Taihei Brings the Canvas to Life With LG SIGNATURE OLED T

What if technology didn’t just support creativity, but became the canvas itself? In Hong Kong’s iconic West Kowloon Cultural District, that vision came to life through Tenka Taihei, a one-of-a-kind Art Tech x Music performance held at Freespace. At the heart of the experience was LG SIGNATURE OLED T, the world’s first wireless transparent OLED TV, transforming innovation into a living, breathing part of the show.

Tenka Taihei, meaning “Peace Under Heaven,” evokes a sense of harmony, stability and hope for the future. It’s a fitting theme in an ever-shifting world. Conceived by musician and creative director Kendy Suen, the performance blends live music, digital calligraphy, projection visuals and interactive sound installations into one immersive experience.

For Suen, the transparent nature of LG SIGNATURE OLED T was more than a technical feature – it was symbolic of the harmony between technology and human connection. “Like a protective yet open fortress,” he explains, “it lets audiences see beyond barriers and connect with the broader world,” reflecting the delicate balance of strength and openness at the heart of Tenka Taihei.

This collaboration is part of LG’s broader belief in “brave optimism” – that even in uncertain times, innovation and creativity can spark hope, foster connection and inspire joy. Through the power of Tenka Taihei, LG explores how technology can move beyond functionality to become a medium for storytelling and cultural exchange, demonstrating that the most powerful innovations enrich human experiences.

As part of the performance, the LG SIGNATURE OLED T became a dynamic digital canvas that blurred the boundaries between the physical and digital worlds. Visual artist Moon Hung, renowned for his real-time artistic creations, used the transparent OLED in harmony with projection mapping and an interactive soundscape, crafting visuals that appeared to float effortlessly in mid-air.

Audiences could take in every intricate detail up close, even in scenes composed of more than two million individual radicals. The screen’s transparent nature allowed them to see both the calligraphy performance and the surrounding space at once, creating the illusion that on-screen visuals were seamlessly integrated into the environment. The result was an elegant synchrony of art, sound and technology – a multi-layered journey where viewers could see sound and hear calligraphy.

The performance left many audience members in awe of its seamless fusion of art and technology. The transparent OLED screen, in particular, captivated their curiosity and admiration, enveloping them in mesmerizing visuals that appeared to drift effortlessly through the space.

LG Advances HVAC R&D Leadership Through Co-Research With Global Universities

Collaborative R&D Driving Development of LG’s Latest Innovations in
High-performance, Sustainable HVAC Solutions

SEOUL, Sep. 18, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG), in partnership with some of the world’s foremost universities, is delivering new innovations in heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC). Through a robust program of R&D, LG and its collaborators are developing advanced technologies that help deliver better efficiency and sustainability, supporting the company’s vision for a Better Life for All.

One highlight of LG’s dedication to driving heat pump R&D is the Global Heat Pump Consortium, which comprises several regional clusters, including the European Consortium for Advanced Heat Pump Research (ECAHR). Established in June 2024, ECAHR recently released research on LG’s Air-to-Air Heat Pump (AAHP). The study, conducted in Norway, focused on real-world tests that demonstrated the high efficiency of LG’s AAHP. Findings suggest that LG’s R32-based AAHP system can consume up to 90 percent less energy and reduce carbon emissions by about 99 percent compared to conventional oil-fired boilers.

The study was published in last month’s edition of REHVA Journal, one of Europe’s leading HVAC publications. This joint research between LG and its Nordic university partner, Oslo Metropolitan University, indicates the performance and potential economic benefits of LG’s AAHP, which is designed for the cold climates of Northern Europe. Based on the findings, LG plans to launch a new AAHP product targeting markets in Northern Europe later this year.

Along with developing next-generation technologies for advanced HVAC products, LG is working together with top universities to resolve various customer pain points. For example, the company has been conducting research with South Korea’s Yonsei University into methods for eliminating common indoor allergens. Their work has shown that the application of photocatalyzed titanium dioxide reduces the presence of various airborne inhalants associated with allergic reactions. LG is set to carry out more detailed studies with the goal of developing an air care system that can effectively capture and remove different types of indoor allergens.

In addition, LG and China’s Tianjin University jointly investigated the long-term performance of air purifiers in typical Chinese households, especially kitchens where oil-based cooking is common. Over nearly a year, the research team utilized ThinQ data analysis to evaluate customers’ living spaces and usage patterns.

The findings revealed that the filter’s ability to remove particulate matter (PM) dropped sharply in environments with high concentrations of oil fumes, prompting LG to develop filter technologies that maintain performance in challenging conditions. The study also monitored changes in harmful gas removal performance and found that LG’s integrated dust and deodorization filter worked nearly twice as fast and had double the capacity compared to conventional deodorization filters. These upgrades have already been applied to LG’s latest air purifiers.

LG has also conducted a variety of research with the University of Florida on how to reduce harmful airborne substances resulting from forest fires. One of the key discoveries of these studies relates to the formation of secondary organic aerosols (SOA)*. By combining physical experiments with modeling data, the research shows the impact that different environmental variables have on SOA formation. The results have been published in renowned academic journals, including Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics and Science of the Total Environment.

“Through close collaboration with leading universities, we are advancing technologies that enhance HVAC energy efficiency and performance to create healthier, more sustainable living environments,” said Oh Sai-kee, head of the LG ES R&D Lab.

A Screen for Every Vision: How LG’s UltraGear Won Over Today’s Most Demanding Users

In the world of high-performance displays, two tribes have long stood apart. On one side, the elite gamers, for whom victory is measured in milliseconds and every frame counts. On the other, the creative professionals, for whom color is not a preference but a science. For a long time, the idea that a single brand could truly master both disciplines seemed unlikely.

That’s why we’re especially proud that the readers of Digital Trends – one of the most discerning tech communities online – voted us Best Monitor Brand of 2025. To us, this recognition means more than an award. It shows that we’ve earned the trust of two of the toughest audiences out there by delivering displays that don’t ask people to compromise – whether they’re chasing a win in-game or chasing perfection in their craft.

Bridging Two Worlds: A Vision Validated by Users
Historically, a monitor that excelled for one of these groups was often a compromise for the other, but Digital Trends’ readers recognized that LG consistently bridges this gap. The publication praised the brand’s unique ability to serve both markets, noting that even a legacy model showcases this dual excellence.

Highlighting the brand’s long-standing philosophy, Digital Trends wrote, “Take the LG 27GN950, a monitor from several years ago. It’s a 4K gaming monitor… but more than that, its color accuracy is so on-point that it will serve professionals well in day-to-day work.” This core strength – engineering a gaming monitor with technology so excellent that it also meets professional standards – is the foundation for LG’s latest innovations.

“If you’re editing video, tweaking an image or anything else that requires you to be able to spot even the slightest shade variances in an image,” Digital Trends concluded, “LG is the brand for you.”

It’s this very philosophy – that a gaming monitor’s underlying technology should be so excellent that it also meets the exacting standards of creative professionals – that forms the foundation for our latest flagship lineups.

The Story Behind the Screen: The Two Pillars of UltraGear Innovation
When we designed the UltraGear lineup, we focused on breaking down barriers between the user and their digital world. That meant two things: delivering immersive, expansive screens that fuel productivity, and ensuring visuals so accurate that they meet the highest creative standards. These principles are perfectly showcased in two key models from the lineup.

The LG UltraGear OLED Gaming Monitor GX9 (45GX950A) is built for immersion on a whole new scale. With world-first 45-inch 5K2K (5120×2160) screen* and dramatic 800R curvature, it surrounds gamers with an incredible field of view. Its Dual-Mode feature offers the versatility to switch between the breathtaking detail of 5K2K at 165Hz for graphic-rich worlds and the blistering speed of WFHD at 330Hz for competitive action. For creators, that same 21:9 screen provides 50 percent more space than a standard 32:9 monitor, while its 125 PPI ensures razor-sharp text clarity. With 98.5 percent DCI-P3 color coverage and DisplayHDR™ True Black 400 certification, it delivers the cinematic color and deep blacks needed for high-fidelity creative work – making it a massive digital canvas perfect for laying out long video timelines or managing multiple applications.

Then there’s the UltraGear 27GX700A, which represents an unwavering commitment to visual fidelity. For gamers, its QHD (2560×1440) resolution, blazing-fast 280Hz refresh rate and near-instantaneous 0.03ms (GtG) response time deliver a perfect balance of detail and speed. For creators, its groundbreaking fourth-generation Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel provides professional-grade accuracy. Its color performance is impressive, covering 99.5 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut for vibrant, true-to-life visuals. It has been recognized with a “Perfect Color Consistency” certification from UL Solutions and “100 percent Color Fidelity” certification from Intertek, ensuring accurate and uniform color expression across every frame and brightness level. The monitor’s VESA DisplayHDR™ True Black 500 certification and a peak brightness of up to 1,500 nits reveal the most subtle details in both the darkest and brightest parts of an image – preserving the full dynamic range of a photograph or a cinematic scene.

It’s this powerful combination – the versatile, expansive productivity of the 45GX950A and the uncompromising color fidelity of the 27GX700A – that defines the UltraGear lineup. It’s why a brand celebrated by the world’s most competitive gamers is the same one trusted by creative professionals.

A Commitment to User-Centric Innovation
We see the Digital Trends award not as a finish line, but as motivation to keep pushing forward. Gamers and creators are two of the most demanding communities in the world – and rightly so. They expect nothing less than speed, precision and authenticity.

At LG, we’re committed to giving them just that. With UltraGear, our goal is simple: to build a screen for every vision, so that whatever you’re creating – or competing for – you have the right tools to bring it to life.

From Check-In to Take-Off: How LG Chillers Ensure Reliable Airport Cooling

From office towers to shopping malls – and even nuclear power plants – chillers are the unsung heroes of climate control. But when it comes to airports, the challenge is on a whole different level. These massive hubs run 24/7, with thousands of people moving through terminals, baggage areas, control rooms and retail spaces. That means the cooling systems have to be rock-solid, efficient and ready for anything.

At LG, we’ve made it our mission to deliver that kind of performance. Our high-efficiency chillers are designed to keep indoor conditions comfortable while making the most of every bit of energy. And airports around the world are proving just how reliable our solutions can be in some of the most demanding environments out there.

We know that no two airports are exactly alike, so we tailor our cooling solutions to each location. Our lineup includes Absorption, Centrifugal, Water-Cooled Screw, Air-Cooled Screw and Inter Scroll Chillers – each with specialized technology and precise control systems. Whether it’s a scorching desert climate or a humid coastal city, our chillers adapt to keep things running smoothly.

Take King Khalid Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. We installed five Centrifugal Chillers there, each with a 3000 Refrigeration Ton (RT) capacity. Using two-stage compression, they deliver top-tier performance while minimizing energy consumption. We’ve also brough Centrifugal Chillers to airports in Bangladesh and Indonesia, helping them maximize cooling efficiency for their large-scale facilities.

In Brazzaville, Congo, Maya-Maya Airport now runs on Water-Cooled Screw Chillers. These units are built for stability, with advanced protection devices and precise control, and to celebrate this achievement, we hosted a commemorative installation ceremony on September 12.

Over in Mexico City, Benito Juarez Airport relies on our Air-Cooled Screw Chiller to keep passengers comfortable. It runs quietly, with low vibration, and uses a high-performance control algorithm to optimize output. By using a falling film evaporator and electronic expansion valve, it also enhances heat transfer efficiency, reduces refrigerant charge and precisely manages refrigerant flow.

Here at home in South Korea, our chillers are hard at work in multiple airports. Incheon International Airport runs eight Air-Cooled Screw Chillers for consistent cooling, while other major airports such as Gimpo and Jeju operate Absorption models with low-GWP refrigerant for stability and efficiency, alongside Centrifugal and Water-Cooled units.

These projects are just the beginning. The global chiller market is expected to hit USD 12 billion by 2027, and we’re aiming to grow our chiller business to USD 720 million (KRW 1 trillion) within two years. With advanced technology, diverse product lineup and commitment to customized solutions, we’re ready to keep airports – and industries everywhere – cool, comfortable and energy-smart.

With Auracast support, users can also synchronize audio across multiple devices, perfect for watch parties, multiplayer gaming and collaborative projects.

And for those who value convenience, the Buds Plus charging case supports wireless charging, making it easier than ever to power up without fumbling for cables. Whether placed on a charging pad at home or on the go, this feature adds a layer of effortless practicality to the premium experience.

xboom Buds Lite: Essential Audio for Everyday Adventures
Designed for those who value simplicity with a touch of personalization, Buds Lite deliver high-quality wireless audio in a streamlined, comfortable form. Powered by the same lightweight graphene drivers as Buds Plus, they offer clear, balanced audio for music, calls and more.

With up to 11.5 hours of playback on a single charge – and up to 35 hours with the charging case – Buds Lite are built to keep up with long commutes, travel days and non-stop listening. Their lightweight, ergonomic design and multiple ear tip sizes ensure a secure, comfortable fit that lasts all day.

To enhance the listening experience, Buds Lite feature Mild ANC paired with four customizable EQ modes, allowing users to fine-tune their sound profile to match their preferences – whether they’re relaxing at home or working in a café. This added layer of personalization brings a premium touch to everyday audio.

The Full xboom Buds Family

  • xboom Buds Plus: Advanced earbuds with superior sound and easy usability. Recommended for active users who travel frequently or have dynamic lifestyles.
  • xboom Buds: Standard earbuds suitable for various everyday activities. Recommended for users with active daily routines, such as students and professionals.
  • xboom Buds Lite: Essential earbuds with long-lasting battery life, ideal for indoor use. Recommended for users in environments such as cafes and libraries.

“Sound has always been part of LG’s identity, beginning with the first radio made in Korea and evolving into today’s wireless audio innovations,” said Lee Jeong-seok, head of the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company’s audio business division. “With xboom Buds Plus and Buds Lite expanding the xboom Buds lineup, we are honoring that legacy by making immersive, high-quality audio experiences available to more people, regardless of their lifestyle or listening preferences.”

1 Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) Disclaimer: ANC functionality is available across all xboom Buds models, but performance may vary. xboom Buds and Buds Plus use a 3-microphone system for enhanced noise detection and reduction. Buds Lite uses a single microphone to monitor ambient noise, resulting in different ANC experiences depending on the model and environment.
2 UVnano is a compound word derived from “UV” and its unit “nanometer.” Independent testing shows that the UVnano charging case eliminates 99.9% of Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria from the earbuds’ speaker mesh within ten minutes of charging. The UV LED function operates when the charging case is connected to a power cable. However users can also customize the settings so that the UVnano is activated automatically whenever the earbuds are placed inside the case and the lid is closed, for added convenience.

Designing Accessibility into Everyday Interactions: LG’s Next-Gen Kiosks Advance a “Better Life for All”

This year marks the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the landmark legislation that transformed public spaces, workplaces and digital platforms in the United States by protecting the rights of people with disabilities. This milestone is ushering in a new generation of B2B technology that is reshaping the way accessibility is delivered in daily life—most visibly through the self-service kiosks people encounter in restaurants, hotels, transit hubs, healthcare facilities and retail stores.

LG Electronics is helping to lead this change with the debut of its new Gen 2 Self-Ordering Kiosks, purpose-built for users with vision, mobility and hearing disabilities. Developed in collaboration with accessibility consultants at Tech for All and informed by continuous feedback from people with disabilities, the kiosks are designed to bring equity, independence and dignity to every interaction.

Accessibility by Design, Not Retrofit
Unlike traditional kiosks that often required late-stage adaptations, LG’s Gen 2 kiosks were intentionally designed with inclusion at their core. Available in multiple configurations—including a motorized height-adjustable pedestal—they feature tactile input options, voice guidance and screen-reader compatibility. These features make the kiosks accessible to wheelchair users, people who are blind or low vision and those with hearing challenges.

As Michael O’Hare, Systems Accessibility Director at Tech for All, explains:
“Getting accessibility early is key. It’s very difficult to go back and fix things. By working from concept through prototyping, LG avoided those costly late changes—and built something that truly works for everyone.”

Collaboration Driving Industry Momentum
LG’s approach goes beyond hardware. The company is co-chair of the Kiosk Manufacturer Association Accessibility Committee, where it works alongside industry partners to advance shared accessibility standards. LG kiosks support a range of assistive technologies, including Vispero’s JAWS® for Kiosk screen reader, Storm Interface’s AudioNav™ tactile keypads and SoundHound AI’s voice interface. Future add-ons, like webcam accessories, promise even greater functionality.

This collaborative spirit aligns directly with LG’s ESG vision of a Better Life for All, which emphasizes inclusion across both consumer and commercial innovations. Beyond kiosks, LG’s accessibility strategy spans audio-narrated appliance manuals, voice assistant integrations and thoughtful product design across its portfolio.

ADA at 35: From Compliance to Empowerment
The ADA laid the foundation for accessibility in the United States. Today, technology leaders like LG are building on that foundation, ensuring that accessibility is seamlessly woven into the everyday experiences of millions of people worldwide.

For LG, accessibility is more than regulatory compliance — it is a catalyst for innovation. As Peter Kim, B2B Strategic Alliance Team Leader at LG Electronics USA, puts it:
“Technology should empower everyone. By embedding accessibility into the DNA of these kiosks, we’re delivering solutions that are genuinely inclusive and empowering.”

LG’s Transparent and Massive Digital Signage Headlines New Tokyo Commercial District

LG Welcomes Customers to Next-Generation Retail Experiences at TAKANAWA Gateway City’s
NEWoMan TAKANAWA With Advanced Transparent OLED and Micro LED

SEOUL, Sep. 10, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) is redefining the future of retail and urban experience marketing by bringing its most advanced display technologies to one of Japan’s most anticipated commercial destinations. With its latest Transparent OLED Signage and ultra-premium Micro LED display, LG is reinforcing its global leadership in high-value retail and transportation hub displays – delivering immersive digital experiences that seamlessly blend into the world’s most iconic venues.

LG has supplied its Transparent OLED Signage and ultra-high-definition Micro LED signage, LG MAGNIT, to NEWoMan TAKANAWA, a flagship complex opening near TAKANAWA Gateway Station in Tokyo.

NEWoMan TAKANAWA is the centerpiece of the TAKANAWA Gateway Station area’s urban regeneration initiative, conducted by LUMINE, a subsidiary of the East Japan Railway Company. As a comprehensive shopping center with a total floor area of approximately 60,000 square meters and around 180 stores, its grand opening is set for September 12, following a partial pre-opening in March.

Transparent OLED Signage: Blending Digital and Physical Worlds
In the event hall on the third floor of the North Building, LG has installed a massive 380-inch Transparent OLED display to offer visitors an innovative spatial experience that creates a unique fusion of real and virtual environments. To achieve this impressive scale while maintaining a sense of openness rather than confinement, sixteen 55-inch Transparent OLED Signage units have been arranged in an eight-by-two configuration.

LG’s Transparent OLED Signage brings a new level of design freedom with its see-through display that blends effortlessly into any setting. Thanks to its modular design, panels can be seamlessly connected on all sides, enabling the creation of transparent video walls in of virtually any size.

LG MAGNIT: Ultra-Premium Micro LED Displays
LG MAGNIT displays have been installed at the second-floor entrances of the North and South buildings. Using Micro LEDs smaller than the width of a human hair (under 100 micrometers), LG MAGNIT delivers self-emissive light and color with clear picture quality, high color reproduction accuracy and precise image processing.

In the North Building, a vertical 2.4-meter-wide by 7.45-meter-high LG MAGNIT captivates visitors with its vivid imagery, while in the South Building, a horizontal 9-meter-wide by 2.02-meter-high display follows the customer pathway, enhancing spatial immersion.

Strengthening Presence in Japan’s Competitive Market
In Japan – often considered a challenging market for foreign brands – LG is making significant inroads with its premium signage and its OLED TVS, which boast superior picture quality defined by perfect color and perfect black. The company is solidifying its leadership in the premium segment, maintaining the top position in the ultra-large OLED TV market (70 inches and above) since last year.

Proven Performance in Iconic Venues Worldwide
LG’s premium signage serves as a display solution that enhances the value of the space at major global landmarks. At Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, 55-inch Transparent OLED Signage units provide visitors with detailed plant information while blending seamlessly into the lush natural surroundings.

“We will strengthen our leadership in the global retail display market with ultra-premium solutions that deliver not only superior visual quality but also transformative customer experiences,” said Paik Ki-mun, head of Information Display Business at the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company. “Our Transparent OLED and Micro LED technologies are enabling retailers and developers to reimagine their spaces with displays that inform, inspire and captivate.”

LG Redefines In-Vehicle Experience With Xbox Gaming and Zoom Meetings Partnerships

LG Pioneers Software-Defined Vehicle Era With
webOS-Based
Automotive Content Platform

SEOUL, Sep. 9, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG), a leading innovator in mobility technology, is strengthening its position in the Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) era with its webOS-based Automotive Content Platform (ACP). Through differentiated solutions and powerful partnerships, the company is transforming vehicles into dynamic software-driven experience hubs.

At IAA MOBILITY 2025, one of the world’s largest mobility events held in Munich, Germany, LG hosted a press conference to share its vision for the future of mobility and announce new strategic partnerships. The conference, titled “Redefining the In-Cabin Experience: Why the Automotive Content Ecosystem Matters,” featured key executives including Eun Seok-hyun, president of the LG Vehicle Solution Company; Chris Jo, head of the webOS Platform Business Center at the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company; Chris Lee, Vice President of Xbox Marketing at Microsoft; and Brendan Ittelson, Chief Ecosystem Officer at Zoom.

“Leveraging nearly 70 years of customer experience expertise in home appliances and IT, LG has a unique competitive edge to redefine the vehicle from a simple means of transportation into a living space centered on the user experience,” said Eun Seok-hyun. “We aim to supply our webOS-based ACP to 20 million vehicles by 2030 while continuously expanding our content and service ecosystem.”

Immersive In-Car Gaming With Xbox
During the conference, LG emphasized the importance of providing a scalable in-vehicle ecosystem and revealed two strategic partners to expand its content offerings.

Meeting players where they are, Xbox will soon bring the gaming experience to the road, with the Xbox app integrated into LG ACP. Passengers with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, a compatible Bluetooth controller and supported internet access, will now have access to play hundreds of games, including popular titles such as Doom: The Dark Ages and Forza Horizon 5 directly from the vehicle’s infotainment system via cloud gaming.

“At Xbox, we’re always looking for new ways to bring the joy of gaming to more people, wherever they are. Through our work with LG, we are expanding the experience and value of gaming even further for players,” said Chris Lee, Vice President of Xbox Marketing. “Soon, passengers can access their gaming library and carry their progression with them wherever they go – whether on the road or at home. Bringing Xbox to the in-vehicle experience means every journey is not only more entertaining but supports the flexibility players expect from Xbox.”

Driving Connection With Zoom
Expanding the scope of LG ACP beyond entertainment, the addition of a native Zoom app will transform vehicles into mobile collaboration spaces. By integrating one of the world’s leading collaboration platforms, LG ACP will empower drivers and passengers to conduct meetings and manage work efficiently across multiple vehicle models – all while enabling safer driving with a user experience that reduces distractions.

“At Zoom, we believe in meeting people where people meet – whether that’s in the office, at home or even in the car,” said Brendan Ittelson. “This partnership marks a major milestone in redefining what’s possible inside the vehicle, helping people communicate and stay connected while on the move.”

From the Living Room to the Road: A Seamless webOS Experience
Building on the success of webOS – now powering over 240 million smart TVs worldwide – LG ACP brings the same intuitive user experience and proven stability into the vehicle. It offers drivers and passengers a seamless mobility experience, allowing them to continue enjoying various content and services on multiple in-vehicle displays, all in compliance with driving safety regulations.

Passengers can stream their favorite content on the vehicle’s infotainment display,* from services such as Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, Baby Shark World for Kids, Play.Works, Haystack News and LG Channels, along with Korean local streaming services TVING and WAVVE. By the end of the year, LG plans to add to its content availability by bringing digital art platform Vasari, European streaming service RakutenTV and German streaming service Joyn. Also, LG ACP will bring Japanese local streaming service U-NEXT soon.

LG ACP powered by webOS is a core component of PlayWare, the in-vehicle entertainment solution within LG’s SDV suite, LG AlphaWare. It delivers a differentiated, high-definition, high-quality content experience that expands customers’ living spaces into the vehicle and makes time on the road more valuable. LG continues to expand the application of its ACP to commercial vehicles, bringing its future mobility vision of transforming the vehicle into a “living space on wheels” to life.

LG Taps Middle East Growth With NEOM Oxagon AI Data Center Partnership

Company Accelerates Growth Strategy, Expanding Footprint in the Global South

SEOUL, Sep. 8, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) CEO William Cho is advancing the company’s Global South growth strategy through a strategic partnership to provide cooling solutions for an AI data center under development in Oxagon, the industrial hub of Saudi Arabia’s NEOM City project.

On September 2 in Riyadh, Cho met with Abdulelah Abunayyan, Chairman of SHAKER Group, the manufacturer and sole distributor of LG Air Conditioners, following the 30th anniversary of the strategic partnership; and Rajit Nanda, CEO of DATAVOLT, a global data infrastructure provider. The parties signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) under which LG will supply advanced thermal management solutions for next-generation data centers being developed by DATAVOLT.

DATAVOLT, headquartered in Saudi Arabia with offices in the USA, Uzbekistan, India and the UAE, develops hyperscale data centers that incorporate renewable energy and alternative fuels. Its flagship project in Oxagon is planned as one of the largest AI data centers in the region. DATAVOLT is also investing in hyperscale data centers in Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, and other parts of Asia.

“We are building a new generation of net-zero, AI-ready data centers designed for performance, scale and sustainability,” said Rajit Nanda, CEO of DATAVOLT. “Partnering with LG allows us to integrate world-class cooling technologies that are critical to enabling the digital transformation of governments and enterprises across the Kingdom of Saudi and beyond.”

“Our 30-year partnership with LG has been instrumental in shaping the HVAC market in Saudi Arabia, and today’s collaboration marks another step forward in that journey,” said Mohammed Ibrahim Abunayyan, CEO of SHAKER Group. “By joining forces with LG and DATAVOLT, we are driving innovation in advanced, energy efficient cooling solutions and supporting the Kingdom’s ambition to become a global technology hub.”

By integrating large-scale chillers with coolant distribution units, LG is positioning AI data center thermal management as a new growth engine within its heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) business. In addition to cooling, LG is developing capabilities to propose integrated solutions such as heat recovery and DC power systems, which can further contribute to energy efficiency in data centers.

The collaboration is also meaningful from the perspective of LG’s “One LG Solution” strategy, which seeks to leverage capabilities across LG Group affiliates. Beyond thermal management, opportunities may extend to battery solutions from LG Energy Solution and data center design, build and operation solutions from LG CNS, drawing on LG Group’s global network.

During his visit, Cho also assessed the market environment and business performance of LG operations in Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, the Levant and Maghreb, highlighting the importance of tailoring strategies to local market dynamics.

“The Middle East and Africa hold tremendous potential,” said CEO Cho. “The Middle East offers abundant B2G and B2B opportunities driven by government-led industrial restructuring and large-scale development projects. By leveraging our strong brand and differentiated offerings in areas such as AI home and smart solutions, we need to focus on capturing new growth across the region.”

Recently, Pilwon Jung, LG’s regional representative for the Middle East and Africa, signed an MOU with Mohammad Al Habib Real Estate Co., a major Saudi developer actively involved in government-backed projects, including premium housing developments.

This marks CEO Cho’s third visit to the Global South this year, following trips to India in January and to Vietnam and Indonesia in May. The Global South is a cornerstone of LG’s growth strategy, with the company positioning the region as a key engine for long-term expansion amid shifting global economic dynamics.

The Middle East and Africa together account for about a quarter of the world’s population and are recognized as regions of strong growth potential. In particular, the Middle East has accelerated diversification beyond oil under government-led initiatives. According to Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency’s 2025 Export Outlook and Regional Market Conditions report, non-oil GDP growth in the Gulf Cooperation Council, including the UAE and Saudi Arabia, is projected to reach 4 percent this year – the highest in three years.

LG has a long history in the Middle East and Africa, first entering the region through branches in Kuwait (1979) and Côte d’Ivoire (1990). Over the past five years, LG’s sales in the region have grown by more than 30 percent.

In HVAC, LG continues to introduce solutions designed for the region’s climate in collaboration with SHAKER Group. These include outdoor units with heat exchangers engineered to withstand sandstorms and high temperatures, produced at the local LG-SHAKER manufacturing facility. LG is also strengthening its service infrastructure with dedicated maintenance subsidiaries across the region.
